It is a massive relief for Electric Vehicle owners traveling on NH-48 Bangalore-Pune Highway. Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) submitted its proposal to NHAI to set up fast charging stations at toll plazas along Bengaluru – Pune Highway Karnataka section. Toll plazas such as Tumakuru, Hiriyur, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Belagavi etc. Bescom Official Sreenath K confirmed to a media house that they are planning to install 120 KW CCS2 EV fast chargers at each toll plaza once they receive approval from NHAI. The reason to set up at toll plazas is due to security, enough lighting, and convenience to the vehicle owners rather than installing at poorly lit and unsecured areas. Bescom is awaiting NHAI approval to move ahead with this project.
